Veneers Carrollton
Transforming Smiles Affected by a Variety of Imperfections
At Flower Dental, one of our highlights is helping patients discover a brilliant new smile. For many patients, dental veneers can provide a dramatic, quick transformation for teeth that are chipped, stained, and even deeply discolored. Veneers in Carrollton can also alter the length and size of misshapen teeth and can even help rotated teeth suddenly appear straight. Veneers represent the ultimate in combining dental art and science to create a smile makeover.
What Are Dental Veneers?
Like a contact lens, veneers are paper-thin pieces of porcelain that are bonded to the outside of your natural teeth. Although the material is thin, it is possible to incorporate many unique features into the ceramics, replicating any look you want to create.
Easily & Permanently Whiten Your Smile
Years of drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes or eating highly pigmented foods eventually take their toll on your teeth, turning them an unattractive shade of yellow or brown. Stained enamel can be bleached at home or by your dentist, but it can become stained again. If you want to whiten your smile for good, dental veneers may be a good fit for you. Veneers are largely stain-resistant, so you won’t have to worry about discoloration or needing to have your veneers whitened.
Fix Minor Cosmetic Dental Problems
Sometimes referred to as “instant orthodontics”, veneers can sometimes treat slightly crooked or gapped teeth that would otherwise be treated with braces or other orthodontics. Veneers are attached to the front surfaces of your teeth – so they camouflage minor orthodontic problems once they’re applied. Your natural teeth may still be gapped or crooked, but nobody will know except you and Dr. Jordan. It’s important to note that veneers cannot always replace orthodontic treatment. Dr Jordan will let you know if veneers are a good option for you.
Replace Damaged Enamel
Enamel is strong, but not indestructible. Your enamel may be worn down from overzealous tooth brushing or eaten away by highly acidic foods and drinks. The stomach acid associated with acid reflux disease can also damage your enamel. This can become a cause for concern, because lost enamel doesn’t grow back. Fortunately, it can be replaced. Veneers are an excellent treatment for teeth with enamel abrasion or enamel erosion and are aesthetically pleasing at the same time.
Making the Magic Happen!
Three steps are involved in bringing a stunning smile like this to life: planning, prep/temporary appointment and final application appointment.
Careful planning of your veneers is vital to a successful outcome. Models, photographs, and digital X-rays allow you and Dr. Jordan to direct your case from start to finish. He will incorporate your input and desires into planning all the details of your veneer case, from color to shape and a number of other factors. This is where Dr. Jordan’s combination of artistry and high-level clinical skills first come into play. He has extensive training and experience in creating smiles that look beautiful while also looking completely natural. No one wants a smile that looks artificial or feels uncomfortable.
Once you and Dr. Jordan agree on a plan for your case, you will return for your first appointment that actually starts the transformation. Dr. Jordan will gently prepare the teeth to allow space for the application of the ultra-thin porcelains. These are custom-crafted in a lab by a master technician using extensive guidance and instructions from Dr. Jordan. At this time, Dr. Jordan will also apply temporary acrylic veneers that you will wear for about three weeks. These temporaries give you a preview of the general appearance of your new smile and allow you to request any further alternations regarding the appearance of your upcoming smile.
When you return for your final appointment. Dr. Jordan will examine each veneer and evaluate its appearance and fit, giving you an opportunity to preview the new look. He will then bond the thin veneers to the outer surface of your teeth, creating an incredibly strong bond between your tooth and the porcelain. Minor adjustments to your bite and a final polish will leave you with a smile that may have you wondering why you waited so long to find Flower Dental!
